OGFC Announces Kohen Scholarship Winners

Vince Kohen started the Centerville Galaxies program in 1974 and was instrumental in the development of club soccer in the Dayton area throughout his lifetime. Vince's work rate, diligence and commitment to youth soccer form the backbone for the criteria used to select the winners of the scholarship competition.
 
Hannah Ritter is a member of the 2016 graduation class at Carroll High School.  Hannah has played soccer for Ohio Galaxies FC for the past 4 years and has been coached in the OGFC program by Pat Ferguson.   Hannah played on the Carroll High School varsity team and served as a team captain in the fall of 2015 when the Carroll girls team captured league and district championships. Hannah has been significantly involved in her school and community as demonstrated by her commitment to volunteering for food pantry collections,  Buddy Walks for Down Syndrome and tutoring at the elementary school and peer level. Hannah will be attending Ohio State University where she plans to study mechanical engineering and continue to play soccer at the collegiate club level.



Colton Smith is a member of the 2016 graduation class at Greenon High School. Colton has played soccer for Ohio Galaxies FC for the past 4 years and has been coached in the OGFC program by Anthony Smerk and Scooby Daniels. Colton played varsity soccer for Greenon high school and will be playing collegiate soccer at Wilmington College where he will be majoring in sports management.  Colton has been involved with a number of community volunteer activities including Dayton Children's Medical Center, Honor Flight Dayton and Greenon youth soccer.  Colton is a certified USSF referee and has worked as a referee at all levels of the game from SAY soccer to the Ohio South State League.
 
 The Ohio Galaxies FC organization is proud of the accomplishments of both Hannah and Colton and wish them all the best as they embark on their next journey.
