COACHING STAFF:

Chris Black
Chris is no stranger to the Dayton area.  Chris was a standout player on the Miamisburg high school boys team and Centerville Galaxies before playing at the collegiate level for the University of Findlay.  Chris is currently the men's assistant coach at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania.  Chris has extensive coaching experience serving as an assistant coach at the University of Cincinnati and as a women's assistant coach at Wright State University.  While at Wright State, Chris was also a member of the Ohio Galaxies FC girls coaching staff.  Chris holds the NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeper Diploma and a NSCAA Premier Diploma.

Neil Daniels
Neil is the Director of Coaching for Ohio Galaxies FC.  Neil holds the USSF A license and well as the National Youth License.  He played at the collegiate level at William Carey College in Mississippi and played professionally for New Orleans Storm and New Orleans Gamblers.  He has been a member of the ODP staff in both Louisiana and Ohio South and has extensive experience as a coach and trainer at all levels of soccer.

Brian Kohen
Brian is the Director of Coaching for the NWC Alliance.  Brian has completed the USSF A license and has extensive experience in player development as the Director of Coaching for the Atlanta Lightning and the Centerville Galaxies.  Bryan played his college soccer at the University of Portland and played professionally with the Dayton Dynamos.  Brian's coaching experience includes a stint as an assistant coach with the Wright State University men's program.

PLAYER FEES:

In order to participate in tryouts and be considered for a roster spot on the team, each player must pay a tryout fee of $25.  Online payment is required at the time of registration.
Player fees for the summer of 2012 will include the following: uniforms, player carding fees with USASA, coaching fees, training and game field rental fees, and referee fees.  The club will provide transportation and meals for players on the roster to play in away matches. 

TEAM TRAINING:

The Ohio Galaxies FC WPSL team will train three times a week beginning in late May.  The team will train in the evening two times a week at Ankeney Soccer Complex on grass and one time a week on turf at Athletes in Action.  Training will continue until the end of the regular season in July.  Additional training weeks will be required dependent upon the team advancing to the WPSL playoffs.

GAME SCHEDULE AND LEAGUE:

The Ohio Galaxies FC WPSL team will play in the Midwest Division of the WPSL.  Division opponents will include teams from Ohio and Indiana.  The season will be comprised of an 8 game schedule with a home and away series with each division opponent.

ROSTER SIZE:

The WPSL puts no limit on the number of players that can be on a WPSL team, but there is a roster limit of 20 players for each match.  We anticipate a team roster size of 24 - 30 players.   NCAA regulations restrict the number of players from each university soccer program to a total of 5 players on the WPSL team roster. 

HOME STADIUM:

Ohio Galaxies FC home matches will be played at either the Athletes in Action Sports Complex or Alumni Field at Wright State University.
